How can a bank make the world stop and take notice of its innovative approach? If it’s ING, it capitalises on its sponsorship of Dutch arts and culture and teams up with technology experts to unveil a new “Rembrandt” painting – 347 years after the artist’s death. Using a series of algorithms derived from Rembrandt’s original works, the bank produced a 3D printed masterpiece in the style of the famed Dutch artist. An online film, accompanied by a 20-minute documentary, launched a global conversation around the fading boundaries between technology and humanity.
