| Story | If a brand wants to sponsor the best football players, they’d have to pay millions. But Burger King found a way to endorse them without paying them a single penny. We sponsored a team at the bottom of English football’s 4th division: Stevenage. We knew that if our logo was on their shirt, it was going to appear in FIFA 20. We then launched the #StevenageChallenge, inviting gamers to play with Stevenage and sharing UGC of the likes of Messi and Neymar wearing the BK logo, for BK rewards in return. We turned a small team in real life into the biggest team online. |

| AI Description | The digital poster for Burger King's 'Stevenage Challenge' showcases renowned football players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar wearing the Stevenage F.C. shirt emblazoned with the Burger King logo. The ad highlights the ingenious sponsorship of Stevenage, a relatively unknown team, to leverage their inclusion in FIFA 20, creating an opportunity for players to use world-famous players in the game under the Stevenage banner. This strategic move tapped into the gaming community, resulting in massive viral engagement, as seen in the metrics such as '$2.5M earned media' and '+25K goals shared videos' reported in the poster. The vibrant colors and bold typography emphasize the creativity and innovation of this campaign, capturing the excitement and modernity of both football fandom and gaming culture. Media quotes and partners like ESPN add extra credibility and awareness, showing the widespread success and acceptance of the campaign. |
