Don't let AIDS gain more ground. Everyone must have access to treatment
Story
The film shows an African man who stumbles and falls. As he rolls over the ground, he takes three women with him. We see this cluster of human roll on, taking more men, women and children on its path. The big ball gathers momentum and we see a huge ball of humans approaching a city. As the ball enters the city, it is gigantic and set to consume the whole city. It approaches a woman singing on the marketplace. As it collides with the woman, we fade to black and the message appears.
Philosophy
Creative Directors Peter Ampe and Katrien Bottez created this superb and powerful film for their client Médecins sans Frontières for the treatment of AIDS
The advertisement begins with an African man walking along a dusty road. He suddenly collapses, rolling and picking up other people along the way, forming a 'human ball' that grows as it travels. This surreal animation illustrates the rapid spread of people stuck together, signifying the rampant spread of AIDS. The dark and foreboding tone is heightened by the repetitive chanting of 'My beloved...' in the background, adding an emotional gravity. As the human ball rolls towards a city, it depicts the ongoing threat AIDS poses to society. In a busy marketplace, the approaching sphere represents the looming crisis. The images fade to black, transitioning to a message urging for access to AIDS treatment for all, emphasizing the critical importance of combating this disease. A call to action is clearly visible: 'Don't let AIDS gain more ground. Everyone must have access to treatment.'
